Some brilliant photography! Eric Valli captures deep meaningful stories behind every photograph he creates. “Off the grid” really captured my attention; an excellent story of individuals that choose to be closer to the earth and separated from “the modern” world. Their faces reflect a true sense of awareness, being and belonging.
Very interesting and inspiring talk. Goes to show that their is a lot we can do to build creative confidence, that in turn amplifies an individuals potential. It also does a good job of calling out those things we do that shut down creative confidence. I enjoyed it.
“Just as energy is the basis of life itself, and ideas the source of innovation, so is innovation the vital spark of all human change, improvement and progress” – Ted Levitt
This is one fun “tool” to use. Not endorsing it, just sharing what I feel is a great source of actionable insights. Give it a spin
Search + Aggregation + Analytics how important they really are…
Up to now I have written about QR Codes and Augmented Reality, Metrics, NFC, Wearable Devices, Management and Leadership and The Human Factor, in “The Next Wave”; now I am afraid I am going to have to get a little technical and put on my “Geek -Cap”, and take my best shot at going through three of the pillars that together form the glue that brings it all together.

For the sake of context, and trying (keep in mind I said “try”) to keep focused, I will zero in on Wearable Devices as the precursor for this post. And at the end, bring it back into a more all-encompassing context to cover the bases.
Wearable Devices are at the center of what is becoming the next “battle ground” for the “hyper-connected, hyper-sharing, hyper-active” wave. Be it a device tucked away in our clothing, or a set of glasses; this Cyborgish contraption will talk, walk, interact and react to us in context of our surroundings.
The human factor – adding value through creative thinking and self-actualization
In most cases when we hear “the next wave”, we all too often immediately put it into the context of technology, marketing, gadgets and so on. Yes, you are correct, those and quite a few other terms are all part of what is to come (there is always something that is the next big thing, it does not stop). Now, let’s not forget about what really drives it all: The Human Factor.
Humans are behind just about everything and I cannot overstate the importance of re-energizing and re-focusing our views, objectives and strategies to calibrate “The Human Factor” so we may enhance the evolution of the wave. As individuals; on a professional and personal plane we want and demand a set of waves that take us on and on and on. As a society we depend and thrive on the next killer set, in order to meet our ever more complex inner needs.
Wearable Devices; Not your cell phone by the way…
Wearable Devices or “Wearable Computing”; from gadgets through clothing and even tattoos (thank you Nokia). No, not your cell phone by the way; yes, todays’ cell phones are impressive, and way more powerful than my first computer, but let’s avoid tagging cell phones as Wearable Devices… for now at least.
